Treasury launches Taiwan tax talks

Talks with Taiwan on a tax agreement are expected to begin in the coming weeks, the Treasury Department announced today.

There’s a lot of bipartisanship in Washington for addressing double taxation issues with the U.S. ally, and Congress has a deal to do just that. But Treasury’s move could complicate the effort to get something done on Capitol Hill.
