House GOP leadership is set to host a briefing on tax plans for reconciliation on Wednesday afternoon, according to multiple sources.

W&M GOP discuss credit unions’ tax-exempt status

News: House Republican tax writers talked about credit unions’ tax-exempt status during their weekly lunch today, according to sources familiar with the meeting.

Republicans are working through a range of options to boost revenue as part of the reconciliation package.

The House Ways and Means Committee’s GOP staff presented on credit unions’ tax-free status.

This followed up on a broader policy discussion the committee already held on the tax-exempt sector, which has been a big focus of the panel under Chair Jason Smith (R-Mo.) and could be a source of offsets for the GOP’s tax package.
