Sen. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) is in Taiwan this week, just days after a bipartisan Senate CODEL visited the country and other Indo-Pacific nations.
Banks, one of the Senate’s most outspoken China hawks and a close ally of President Donald Trump, arrived in Taipei early Tuesday morning. Banks plans to meet with Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te, as well as the country’s vice president, defense minister and legislative speaker.
