House GOP leaders are working to convince rank-and-file Republicans that their shot at a third reconciliation bill is real, hoping it’s enough to rally the conference behind a narrow ICE and Border Patrol package.
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise convened a meeting this morning with House Budget Committee Chair Jodey Arrington (R-Texas) and key caucus leaders about a third reconciliation package. But Arrington has been a leading voice for expanding the current party-line bill (recon 2.0) that Republicans are considering.
