Let’s talk about deadlines.
We didn’t set any deadlines for the GOP’s massive reconciliation package. House Republicans did. But Republicans get quite prickly when asked about where they are in passing their “One Big, Beautiful Bill.” (By the way, this is now the official working title of the legislation.)
A reminder: First, Speaker Mike Johnson and top House Republicans said they’d get their reconciliation bill through the House by the Easter recess. Now Republicans say they want to get it through the chamber by Memorial Day.
