House Republicans released their opening salvo on two appropriations bills today, officially setting off what will be a bitter battle with Democrats over massive spending cuts.
House Democratic appropriators are already blasting two funding bills the GOP posted today: the MilCon-VA and Ag-Rural Development-FDA bills. Two House Appropriations subcommittees will mark up the bills on Thursday. House Democrats are unlikely to throw their support behind the bills, which also have no chance of passing the Senate.
