Hudson on federal workers’ back pay and 5G innovation

Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.) said federal workers should receive their back pay once the government shutdown ends, bucking the White House’s threat to withhold the paychecks of furloughed employees.

Hudson participated in a conversation with Punchbowl News Thursday where he also discussed the importance of 5G, spectrum and technological innovation and the impact of the shutdown.

“I certainly think the federal workers ought to get their pay,” Hudson said. “It's very painful to see folks back home, whether it's your TSA employees, whether it's people at the post office, and certainly, when you're talking about soldiers and their families.”
