Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Monday said he would take action if needed to ensure that the Pentagon and other agencies retain the authority to transfer weapons from U.S. stockpiles to Ukraine.
McCarthy’s comments come after Congress passed a stopgap funding bill over the weekend that did not include new transfer authorities for the administration. These transfer authorities have been crucial throughout the 18-month conflict.
