Maryland Democratic Gov. Wes Moore announced Tuesday the creation of a Redistricting Advisory Commission to consider a mid-decade redraw of the state’s congressional map.
Democrats are eager to redistrict in Maryland to draw out the Free State’s lone Republican, Rep. Andy Harris. Maryland is one of the few states where Democrats have total control over redistricting.
“My commitment has been clear from day one — we will explore every avenue possible to make sure Maryland has fair and representative maps,” Moore said in a statement.
