What’s next for the Republicans doomed by the Virginia redistricting referendum?
The only true GOP seat left is the 9th District, which is tucked in the southwest corner of the state. And it may host a member-vs-member primary.
Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-Va.) told us he plans to run there. Griffith’s home is not in the new district, though it has much of his current turf. Rep. Ben Cline’s (R-Va.) home is in the new 9th.
Asked if he was prepared to run against Cline, Griffith said, “He’ll have to figure that out. It’s 81% my district.”
