News. The Virginia General Assembly is preparing to release a new congressional map after days of protracted bickering.
The map, which could come as soon as today, will largely resemble the one the House of Delegates proposed with a few key changes. Eight of the congressional districts are reliably blue. There is one deep-red seat in the southwest of the state. But the remaining two seats will be competitive.
