Both Republican and Democratic appropriators on the subcommittee have said they’re committed to finding a compromise on this appropriations measure. The version House Republicans released earlier this month would provide a total of $58.5 billion, which is slightly above FY2026 funding levels. The increase is mainly for the defense portion of the bill. The House Appropriations Committee will markup the bill this morning.
