GOP attacks TikTok deal but leaves Trump untouched

Republican China hawks have been maintaining a tough public stance on TikTok, except when it comes to President Donald Trump delaying enforcement of the law they passed.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.), the leaders of the Senate and House Commerce committees, have been harsh TikTok critics.

But it seems like they’d rather have Trump continually delaying enforcement of the law they championed than getting stuck with a bad deal — or buck their party leader.
