Congress has fled town, meaning funding for the Department of Homeland Security will expire Friday – triggering yet another partial government shutdown.
Some parts of DHS can keep operating with money from the One Big Beautiful Bill, including ICE and CBP. But funding for agencies under DHS like FEMA, TSA and the Coast Guard will run out tomorrow. It’s unclear how long the shutdown will last as President Donald Trump and Senate Democrats continue to negotiate ICE reforms.
Both chambers are scheduled to be on recess next week.
