Kirsten Gillibrand appointed DSCC chair

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) will chair the DSCC this cycle, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced on Monday.

Gillibrand, who’s served in the Senate since 2009 and just won election to another term in November, takes over from Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) as Democrats find themselves in the minority.
