Senate GOP leaders mounted a full-court press for Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) during their lunch meeting Tuesday, urging Republican senators to do their part to help the embattled incumbent, according to multiple attendees.
The presentation featured remarks from NRSC Chair Tim Scott as well as a representative from the Senate Leadership Fund, the GOP leadership-aligned super PAC. The group is spending tens of millions of dollars to boost Cornyn ahead of a March 3 primary that’s likely to head to a runoff.
