With senators eager to skip town for the August recess, there’s little progress on a nominations deal while a long-stalled appropriations package is going nowhere fast.

At this time, rank-and-file senators aren’t being told what’s next other than that GOP leaders plan to keep moving forward on nomination votes and appropriations talks.
