Senate Majority Leader John Thune pitched a GOP health care bill from two of his top committee chairs on Monday, an indication that the South Dakota Republican could try to offer it as an alternative to Democrats’ Obamacare subsidy extension plan this week.
The emerging proposal, led by Senate Finance Committee Chair Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) and HELP Committee Chair Bill Cassidy (R-La.), is one of many that GOP senators have batted around in recent days as they struggle to coalesce around a particular idea.
