Republican senators are putting new pressure on President Donald Trump and Senate leaders to take up a hard-hitting Russia sanctions bill amid new signs that Moscow is slow-walking Ukraine peace talks.

Trump’s two-hour phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this week — and lack of a clear path forward — was further evidence to many Republicans that new sanctions are needed. The bill reached 80 co-sponsors on Wednesday.
