Vice President-elect JD Vance is pledging to “move heaven and earth” to attend Senate votes during the lame-duck period if his vote is needed to defeat or otherwise stall a Democratic judicial nominee.

Vance, who’s a sitting senator until he’s sworn in as vice president on Jan. 20, was the subject of intense scrutiny earlier this week at a closed-door Senate GOP lunch, during which Republicans complained about his absence from the chamber while the party undertakes a strategy to slow-walk President Joe Biden’s judicial nominees.
