Tech: Budd and Kim drop government data bill

Sens. Ted Budd (R-N.C.) and Andy Kim (D-N.J.) are introducing a bill on Monday designed to jump-start the process of getting government data into the hands of artificial intelligence developers.

The bipartisan duo, both of whom sit on the Senate Commerce Committee, are unveiling the bill at a time when developers, the White House and experts say the key to realizing the benefits of AI is training on data from priority areas like weather and medicine.
