Carr prods GOP to go big on spectrum

Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr said today Republicans should make “at least” 600 megahertz of mid-band spectrum commercially available in their reconciliation bill.

That number is on the high side of what may be possible. But Carr told reporters this afternoon there may be ways to get there without touching frequencies that GOP military hawks are reluctant to take away from the Pentagon.
