The House Democrats’ artificial intelligence working group is examining issues related to agentic AI systems that can take actions on their own rather than at the direction of a human, according to two sources familiar with the effort.
The “commission” of three Democrats is still examining a wide variety of policy areas — including labor, data privacy and civil rights — but it views agentic AI as an urgent issue that the White House has skipped over in its push to enact laws to regulate the technology, one of the sources said.
