Key House chair weighs in on GAIN AI

Sen. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) needs some help in the House if he’s going to keep his idea to limit certain exports of advanced semiconductors in the annual defense policy bill.

But a key committee chair is at least sympathetic to House GOP leadership’s preference that the GAIN AI Act move through regular order. This would be a prescription for slowing down the proposal opposed by Nvidia and other big chipmakers.
