Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said Thursday that supporters of her bill on deepfake, non-consensual nudes have had “positive and encouraging conversations” with Speaker Mike Johnson on the measure.
“We’ve made some massive steps forward,” Ocasio-Cortez, who’s leading the House version of the Defiance Act, said at a news conference with socialite and influencer Paris Hilton. “It’s time for us to finish the job.”
