Tech starts group to build AI safety tools

OpenAI, Google, Discord and other companies are launching a group to develop safety tools for artificial intelligence systems that can be adopted by organizations that might not be able to develop their own.

Robust Open Online Safety Tools, or ROOST, is one of the announcements occurring as part of the AI Action Summit in Paris. It will also arrive at a time when the United States is pulling back from government AI safety initiatives.
