Tech group pushes Lutnick for fixes to chips export rule

A tech trade association is pushing Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick for improvements to the controversial Biden administration rule on the export of advanced semiconductors.

TechNet, which represents several chip and hardware firms, proposed a variety of fixes in a Thursday letter, even as President Donald Trump’s administration has so far ignored calls by some in the industry to ax the artificial intelligence diffusion rule completely.
