President Donald Trump on Tuesday called for a “Federal Standard” on artificial intelligence that would stop “overregulation by the States.”

The post on Truth Social came as opponents of preempting state laws on AI pushed back against an idea floated by House Majority Leader Steve Scalise.

Scalise told us Monday he’s looking to include language in the annual defense policy bill that would block states from regulating the advanced technology.
