On DHS. Senate Republicans are pushing President Donald Trump to take executive action to fund critical elements of the Department of Homeland Security, a sign that a bipartisan compromise to reopen the department seems to be getting out of reach.
There’s been chatter in the Capitol that the White House should consider shuffling around money to pay TSA agents, for example. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told us that the administration “is having discussions about a number of ideas to blunt the impact of the Democrat shutdown crisis, but no preparations or plans are currently underway.”
