Shutdown rolls on as Senate leaves town

The Senate will be out Thursday in observance of Yom Kippur. Senators will return Friday for yet another vote on the House-passed funding bill. The Saturday schedule is still fluid, according to Senate aides.

And even as both sides seem to be digging their heels in deeper, the bipartisan huddle we saw on the Senate floor earlier Wednesday showed that senators are searching for a way out of the shutdown.
