Eighty-four minutes. That’s how long President Donald Trump spoke to House Republicans, delivering one of his trademark stemwinders in front of GOP lawmakers Tuesday morning at the Kennedy Center.
Much of it was simply entertainment – impressions of French President Emmanuel Macron, railing on Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and telling New York Times photographer Doug Mills that he makes the president look fat in pictures.
But Trump made some news. Trump acknowledged the weak political position that House Republicans are in, sketched out his preferred political message ahead of the 2026 midterms and urged the GOP to take up health care legislation.
