Breaking. The Trump administration’s top antitrust cop announced Thursday she’s leaving her job, less than a year into what has proven to be a tumultuous tenure.
“It is with great sadness and abiding hope that I leave my role,” Gail Slater, head of the Justice Department’s antitrust division, said on X. “It was indeed the honor of a lifetime to serve in this role.”
Slater’s deputy assistant attorney general had left earlier in the week, and two other senior officials departed their posts last year after clashing with allies of President Donald Trump over what deals should be greenlit. Slater’s office is scrutinizing the Netflix-Warner Bros. merger and litigation against Live Nation.
