Leaders of the Senate Commerce Committee were cool to the idea Tuesday of the Federal Communications Commission raising the national media ownership cap.
Commerce Committee Chair Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and his Democratic counterpart, Maria Cantwell (Wash.), appeared skeptical during a morning hearing that the Nexstar-Tegna merger, which would blow through the cap, increases competition in the media market.
