Republicans aren’t calling for embattled Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard to go, but they are expressing concern over her presence at a Fulton County elections office FBI raid and demanding to see more of her on Capitol Hill.
Gabbard was one of President Donald Trump’s toughest confirmation battles; she ultimately secured a 52-48 vote after a handful of GOP lawmakers were won over. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) was the lone Republican to oppose her.
“Why she was in Atlanta is a little bit of a head scratcher for me,” Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) said. “If you’re down in Atlanta, what are you not doing up here? And was it really necessary, given the nature of that — the seizure of ballots — was it really necessary to be there on the scene for a photo op?
