The House Financial Services and Agriculture committees are exploring whether changes should be made to the federal law that governs prediction markets, according to House Financial Services Committee Chair French Hill (R-Ark.).
“We are asking the questions of the regulatory agencies and stakeholders about — is there a need for any imminent statutory change?” Hill said in an interview on Thursday, referring to prediction markets.
Hill said the committees were holding hearings and briefings while also soliciting feedback from the Securities and Exchange Commission and Commodity Futures Trading Commission about any needed congressional action.
