Dems dismiss Trump’s Pulte promise

President Donald Trump said Thursday that Bill Pulte won’t be nominated to serve permanently as director of national intelligence. But the controversial Trump loyalist will remain in the high-profile role in an acting capacity until the president makes a formal nomination.

Trump’s comments come amid bipartisan uproar on Capitol Hill over his surprise appointment of Pulte as acting DNI earlier this week. Pulte is the director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency and has no experience or background on national security issues.
