The Cornyn-Paxton race heats up

The nascent Texas Republican Senate primary is getting heated the day after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced his challenge to Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas).

Cornyn’s delegation partner, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), is staying neutral in the race at the same time as Cornyn is aggressively going after Paxton. The twin developments are setting the stage for an expensive and bitter campaign in the Lone Star State.
