Longtime Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) could get a run for her money in a race against a 26-year-old progressive social media influencer.

Schakowsky gets outraised and other Q1 highlights

– Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), who is facing a primary challenge from progressive Kat Abughazaleh, was outraised in the first quarter.

Schakowsky raised $213,041 in Q1 and has $877,402 cash on hand. Abughazaleh raised $378,596 and has $363,610 on hand. Granted, Schakowsky has more in the bank. But this is an interesting datapoint when considering the primary climate.

– The perennially endangered Rep. David Valadao (R-Calif.) raised an impressive $937,470 in the first quarter and has $845,920 in the bank.
