Pentagon policy chief Elbridge Colby’s tensions with Senate Republican defense hawks were well known heading into this week. What wasn’t clear until Thursday was that leading Republicans on the House Armed Services Committee also have hard feelings toward Colby.
House Armed Services Committee Chair Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) took Colby to task for failing to notify lawmakers about planned changes to U.S. troop deployments in Europe and for broader communications breakdowns that GOP lawmakers said left them feeling Colby is “disingenuous.”
