The top Democrats on intelligence matters are demanding answers on Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s participation in a raid Wednesday of an election center in Fulton County, Ga. and calling for immediate briefings.
Specifically, Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chair Mark Warner (D-Va.) and House Intelligence Ranking Member Jim Himes (D-Conn.) want to know:
— Gabbard’s reasoning for attending the FBI operation in Fulton County, which was related to the 2020 election.
— Under what legal authorities she participated.
— Any intelligence she has concerning foreign interference in U.S. elections.
“It is also deeply concerning that you participated in this domestic law enforcement action. The Intelligence Community should be focused on foreign threats,” Warner and Himes wrote to Gabbard. “Your recent actions raise foundational questions about the current mission of your office.”
