House lawmakers are no longer planning to hold any votes on Iran war powers this week, according to Democratic sources.
Not acting this week means the soonest House Democrats could force another vote to rein in President Donald Trump’s actions in Iran would be the week of April 13, following a planned two-week recess.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said there are “ongoing conversations” about the path forward on war powers “sooner rather than later,” saying “when we present something on the floor, it’s our determination to win.”
