A leading Senate Republican is laying the groundwork to push for the inclusion of extra funding for the intelligence community as part of an expected Iran supplemental package.
Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) said Wednesday that he expects to see “a healthy intelligence budget request” as part of the “administration’s supplemental appropriations request to fund operations against Iran and narcoterrorists.”
“No doubt our military needs supplemental funding, but our intelligence agencies need it just as badly,” Cotton said during the annual worldwide threats hearing.
