Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) tore into the Army on Tuesday for relying on the “risky” reconciliation process to refill up to two-thirds of its munitions needs following the Iran war.
McConnell, chair of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, called it an “unnecessary risk” to seek missile and drone funds “assuming reconciliation passes at all.”
“The reliance of this budget request on one-time reconciliation spending is really quite a risky approach,” McConnell said at an Army budget hearing, echoing the concerns of senior House GOP appropriators.
