Proponents from both parties of expanded federal deposit insurance accelerated their legislative campaign in the Senate and beyond this week.
Sens. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) and Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.) used a Senate nomination hearing on Thursday to push for legislation that would introduce a $10 million limit on deposit insurance for transaction accounts.
Elsewhere, there are signs the push is slowly generating wider support in the Senate.
