Hill warned that the United States risks falling behind on crypto policy if bipartisan talks drag on much longer.

Chair Hill nudges the Senate

House Financial Services Committee Chair French Hill (R-Ark.) said Thursday that the time has come for the Senate to advance crypto market structure legislation. Hill warned that the United States risks falling behind on crypto policy if bipartisan talks drag on much longer.

“They have to go through that process of member education, member debate, member discussion,” Hill said in an interview. “But in my view, it’s also time to vote.”

Negotiators in the Senate have been working around the clock this week to land a bipartisan agreement ahead of a long-shot markup on the Senate Banking Committee next week. A bipartisan group of senators convened again this morning and remains committed to ironing out issues. But the deadline to schedule a markup next week is rapidly approaching.
