Rules preps a clean GENIUS Act – with a twist

Scoop: The House Rules Committee will post the GENIUS Act as soon as this afternoon so it can receive a floor vote this week, according to two sources involved in the planning. The stablecoin policy bill, passed by the Senate last month, will be closed off to amendments, putting it on a glide path to becoming law.

But House Republicans haven’t given up on their quest to make changes to the GENIUS Act.

Rules is also expected to post the CLARITY Act, a market structure regulatory effort led by House Financial Services Committee Chair French Hill (R-Ark.) and Rep. Bryan Steil (R-Wis.). The final version of CLARITY will contain proposed changes to the GENIUS Act, according to one person with direct knowledge of the text.
