Gruenberg says White House’s quiet on his tenure

News: The embattled chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. told us the White House has not been in contact about his ability to lead the agency as it navigates an ongoing crisis.

In a brief interview this afternoon, we asked Chair Martin Gruenberg whether the White House had communicated anything about its faith in the long-time regulator to continue leading the agency as lawmakers demand changes at the FDIC.

Gruenberg replied: “No.”
