First in The Vault: Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) has a new bill that would create a housing tax credit program geared toward new construction – a key plank of Vice President Kamala Harris’ economic agenda.
The New Homes Tax Credit Act would offer incentives for developers to build single-family homes intended for new homebuyers. Its aim is to build up housing for lower and middle-income buyers.
