News: House GOP leadership is in active discussions with Financial Services Committee Chair French Hill (R-Ark.) about including provisions of the Senate’s ROAD to Housing Act in the annual defense authorization, according to two people briefed on the talks.
The negotiations, which are extremely fluid, could result in some version of the ROAD to Housing Act becoming law in a matter of weeks. Hill objected to ROAD’s inclusion in the NDAA last month.
The development comes hours after the White House threw its support behind the last-ditch effort to include most of ROAD in the NDAA, confirmed by three people familiar with the matter.
