House Republicans go after CBO scoring

First in Punchbowl News: Rep. Andy Barr (R-Ky.) is leading a group of House Republicans on a new bill that would make the Congressional Budget Office regularly check its math and dig into why any estimates were off base.

It’s the latest move from the GOP questioning the accuracy of projections from Congress’ nonpartisan scorekeeping office. Republicans have been privately lamenting CBO’s analysis as they put together their budget reconciliation package, laying the groundwork to spar over projections down the line.
